Job Description

Our client, a reputable and stable heavy manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Supply Chain expert who is dynamic and energetic in your approach, has advanced leadership ability and who has a progressive background in logistics management with an understanding of all aspects of it from start to finish.

This position is accountable for building, developing and providing supply chain and logistics organizational capabilities to both internal and external customers, ensuring the optimal flow of physical goods through the various network channels. This role serves as the most critical interface and coordinator between warehouses, purchasing, distribution, manufacturing, sales, customer service, and finance.

Your areas of expertise will include:
– Project recoveries
– Fleet management
– Change orders
– Handling weather related issues for rail and truck
– Team leadership through logistics crisis mitigation
– Strong data expertise utilized for making precise and effective decisions

You are a leader of people and you will lead your teams encompassing distribution operations and inbound/outbound transportation planning and management including workforce planning and people management. You will cultivate and manage a safety culture within a diverse workforce. You will champion transformational change management, collaborating and influencing key business partners.

Your experience will include the ability to negotiate and manage both rail and truck transportation responsibilities. You will have a track record of dealing with transportation suppliers with responsibility for multi-sites. You will have extensive Brokerage Services knowledge and are a strong problem solver with experience dealing with production upsets and project management for large orders.

Your communication skills will be well honed and ensure strong communication at all levels of the organization to ensure smooth transitions, on time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Post secondary education in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management is preferred, with US Customs Compliance expertise. A minimum of 10 years in a global logistics leadership role is expected to meet the demands of this exciting role.
