Job Description

Summary:

Our client is seeking a proactive Human Resources Manager to guide and support our departments and employees in achieving company objectives related to employee relations, particularly in managing the Employee Charter. The successful candidate will tackle issues concerning strategic planning, training program development and sourcing, succession planning, divisional compliance, and recruitment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the Employee Charter, ensuring adherence across the division
Supervise and direct the improvement and creation of employment policies and the employee handbook
Communicate company policies to all department managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure consistent understanding and application
Assist managers and supervisors in interpreting and applying company policies correctly and consistently
Offer support to all employees, addressing concerns and questions promptly and professionally
Guide and give direction on employee discipline, coaching, and development-related issues
Counsel on matters relating to Employment Standards, Human Rights, and Labour Relations
Stay updated on relevant legislative changes and legal interpretations
Handle management-level staff recruitment for both internal and external positions
Manage hourly and non-management salary posting processes effectively
Oversee the creation and upkeep of all onboarding programs
Supervise all training activities, including identifying training needs, designing and delivering programs (when necessary), and maintaining a centralized database for a cohesive corporate approach to training
Direct talent development and succession planning processes
Oversee divisional compensation and benefits programs, including annual compensation reviews, pay equity and promotions
Participate in and manage audits of essential business systems, such as health & safety, environmental, and compliance programs
Additional Tasks:

Monitor and maintain communication centers within the plants
Ensure compliance with established Business Management Systems, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and Staffing
Support continuous improvement efforts within the organization
Contribute to achieving the company’s operating system objectives
Focus on internal and external customer satisfaction while carrying out all duties
Perform other tasks as assigned
Health & Safety Obligations:

Oversee health, safety, and environmental functions for the division
Enforce established quality and housekeeping standards
Review and comply with divisional health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies
Address hazards, defects, or non-compliance issues brought to their attention promptly
Uphold policies prohibiting workplace violence and harassment
Fulfill duties specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act
Required Qualifications & Skills:

A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, or equivalent
At least 5 years of experience in a progressive HR leadership role
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Leader (CHRL) certification is a plus
Proven formal presentation abilities
Strong organizational skills, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office Programs proficiency
