Job Description

Our well-established and progressive automotive manufacturing client is seeking a seasoned Plant Manager for their busy site. They take a family-oriented approach to business with strong integrity, accountability and hard work. They require a roll-up your sleeves leader who understands people and knows how to provide a strategic direction for his/her teams and ensure the vision of the company is exceeded.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Engineering, a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership in automotive manufacturing and have union experience; able to manage the collective agreement process. Advanced ability with P&L, in addition to strong expertise creating and improving processes and procedures to improve corporate performance, are required. Demonstrated lean manufacturing ability and know how is key to you being chosen to move forward. Your ability to analyze and report on the plant’s daily, monthly and annual key performance indicators and industry trends are necessary.

The Plant Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and overall administration of plant operations. He or she will oversee staffing, production and effectively and efficiently oversee the development and direction of the management team to drive the growth of production, revenue and the quality of goods produced in the facility. The Plant Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, department managers and ensuring the integration of strategic plans within the plant facilities. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.


Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred with strong lean manufacturing expertise
5-7 or more years’ previous management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment with proven leadership abilities.
Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on plant and business processes.
Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
