We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to serve as a Purchasing Manager-Advanced Materials within a Corporate Purchasing organization at Corporate Headquarters located in Burlington, Ontario.
As a Purchasing Manager-Advanced Materials, you will manage the overall Procurement activities as required to support business strategies and operations and oversee the Purchasing activities of the Mississauga plant.
negotiate term and spot supply contracts as required;
maintain a close working relationship with the Advanced Materials Business Center to ensure the purchasing related needs of the business center and production facilities are met.
Coordinates closely with global Purchasing teams to leverage purchasing power between the regions.
Negotiate term and spot raw material contracts as required by the Business with a keen focus on ensuring goods are competitively priced and strategically purchased based on business objectives
Establish and maintain close lines of communication with production facilities and business center regarding the procurement of materials in the desired quantities and desired delivery requirements and to exchange raw material market information/forecast as needed to support Advanced Materials business strategies
• Ensure that goods are obtained from approved sources, meet existing quality and performance standards using proper purchasing practices which include ISO, Sarbanes-Oxley and purchasing procedure compliance
• Develop and maintain strategic sourcing strategies while ensuring productive supplier relationships •
Lead change management initiatives within the Purchasing function, provide agile leadership, guidance and developmental training to direct reports in a manner that promotes professional growth, drives innovative ideas and creates engagement
• Issue or approve purchase orders if/when required, and resolve purchase order/invoice discrepancies as needed • Provide Purchasing Director with reports and updates on supplier issues and raw material markets.
Assist Director in establishing quality and quantity of materials procured at production facilities
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related business experience with 7+ years related experience • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs • Must have proven Manager or Higher Purchasing/Supply Chain experience leading teams and setting strategy • Must demonstrate ability to develop dynamic and innovative solutions • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or documented progress toward this certification a plus.Apply Now
